observing is art
We're all born artists.
As children, we look at the world with wonder and curiosity, observing with keen interest and marveling at the simplest things.
Our childlike wonder drives us to create: we draw stick figures that represent entire worlds, build castles from blankets and chairs, and weave elaborate stories from the simplest prompts. In these moments, we are pure artists - creating, interpreting, and reimagining our reality.
Eventually, we grow up, get busy, and trade wonder for efficiency. We see the world but forget to observe it.
Art is about observing the world around us: the reflection in a raindrop, the electric pattern of leaves, the dance of shadows in a still life. These details bring richness to a painting, yet we overlook them in our everyday lives.
As we cultivate awareness, we realize that being human is itself an art form, where we are both the artist and the canvas.
We begin to see connections where others see chaos. We find inspiration in unexpected places. We become more creative, more empathetic, more... alive.
So, slow down.
Notice.
Listen.
Feel.
For observing is art itself.
